How Many Syns Are In Quavers

Quavers are deep fried crisps made by Walkers since 1997 and previously Smith’s. They are made with potato starch and cooked in a similar way to prawn crackers which gives them that light but crunchy texture. The most common flavour is cheese, but they have made salt and vinegar, prawn cocktail and bacon on and off over the years. They are named quavers as they resemble the musical note.

Quavers come in grab bags and multi packs of varying sizes, we’re going to cover both as well as offer the syns per gram which is the same not matter the bag size.

But, are Quavers on the healthy side of the crisp world or are they deceptively heavy on syns and calories from the starch? Let’s find out.

Walkers Quavers Syn Values

A single, loose pack of Quavers weighs 34 grams and contains 182 calories. This means that a bag of Quavers is worth 9.1 syns. A 16g bag of Quavers that you find in a multipack is worth 4.3 syns.

They are ranked 14th of of 32 in terms of syns per bag. Quavers are comparable to Squares (8.9), Chipsticks (9.1) and Skips (9.5). Stick or twist?

Do the other flavours have different syns?

Salt and Vinegar flavoured Quavers have slightly less calories but not enough to affect the syns – a 16g multipack bag has 4.3 syns. A 16g bag of Prawn Cocktail flavour Quavers are 4.2 syns, barely a difference but there is a difference.

Are Quavers worth the syns?

This is the section which compares Quavers to all crisps at once. Quavers are ranked 26th out of 32 with a SynScore of 77% – this makes Quavers amongs the worst in terms of syns per gram (0.27) of weight of all the crisps. Quavers are comparable in this regard to McCoy’s, Snackrite and Golden Wonder.

If you fancy a packet of crisps and Quavers are your favourites then go for it, the aim of the SynScore and SynRank is to simply even the playing field in terms of how much crisp you’re actually eating per syn you’re spending.
