A Lyion’s Viscount biscuit was one of my favourites growing up – we didn’t have it often but it was a treat when we did. When I ask others about Viscounts they’ve never heard of it which is a shame because I think they’re missing out on such an unique flavour and texture not found in many other biscuits on our list.
A viscount has a biscuit base with minto flavoured filling and a milk chocolate covering – a true delight. It sounds great but not so healthy…or is it? We take a look at how much they weigh, how many calories they are each and of course how many syns each one is worth.
Viscount biscuit syn values
A Viscount weighs 14g and contains 74 calories. This means a single Viscount biscuit is worth 3.7 syns each, with a syns to gram ratio of 0.26. The value of 3.7 syns each puts it among the heaviest in line with a Hobnob and slightly better than a crunch cream. With a ratio of 0.26 a single viscount is comparable with a Penguin and a Pink Wafer.
How many syns are in a pack of Viscounts?
There are only 7 Viscounts in a pack which means they are worth 25.9 syns if you were to demolish the whole thing.
Are Viscounts worth the syns?
Viscounts edge many biscuits as they offer a unique flavour – if you were to compare them with bland biscuits then surely they are preferable. That said, they are not healthy with a long ingredients list which does contain chocolate, palm oil, mint, wheat, sugar, icing sugar and so on. You may be better off with something a bit healthier if you just want a quick snack rather than something to go with a brew.
