How many syns are in a Snickers

A Snickers is one of my personal favourite chocolate bars to have at any time, the taste the texture and the added bonus of nougat and peanuts on top. It definitely fills a void and lives up to “you don’t feel yourself, have a Snickers’. I’m well aware its not the healthiest snack but here we discuss the Snickers syn values and whether or not it is the best use of syns if you really aren’t feeling yourself.

Originally called a Marathon, a Snickers is one of the few chocolate bars to contain caramel, peanuts, nougat and chocolate making it a genuinely unique offering. Also through the ages the Snickers is one of those notorious bars which shrinks in size every now and again but without an adjustment in price – this means a Snickers today has less calories but costs more – perhaps a good thing.

With sales of over $2 billion a year it really is one of the world’s most popular chocolate bar so we sincerely hope the stats match up to the demand! Let’s go!

Snickers Syn Values

A Snickers weighs 48 grams and contains 245 calories. This means that a single bar of Snickers is worth 12.5 syns each with a ratio of 0.26 syns per gram. This syn value is similar to a Dairy Milk (12.0), Twix (12.4) and a Double Decker (12.5).

12.5 syns for a single bar is on the heavy side in our chocolate list but if you want to know how it compares directly and fairly to its competitors and whether it’s worth the syns then keep reading.

Are Snickers worth the syns?

Snickers are an unhealthy snack but come with the advantage of having other ingredients besides chocolate. If Snickers are your favourite then how many syns they are irrelevant if you have the syns to spare. But, there are harder working chocs out there.

At 0.26 syns per gram, it is towards the bottom of the table with the likes of Flake, Ripple and Toffee Crisp. If you’re after similar ingredients a Picnic is a better alternative with 0.24 syns per gram.

Lastly, A Snickers has a SynScore of 55% which is just over average, this means that a Snickers is 55% as efficient as the leading chocolate bar.
