The Galaxy Ripple is the smoother shelled competitor to the Flake, using Mars’s ultra popular Galaxy chocolate blend. The Ripple is perhaps posher, to be consumed as a snack and not being anywhere near a 99 or a Mr. Whippy. It’s one of my favourites as I am a big fan of Galaxy and the ripple design does seem to bring more flavour out.
It’s clearly not a healthy snack but how many syns are in each and how does it compare with the competitors? Is it worth your syns? Let’s find out.
Galaxy Ripple Syn Values
A stick of Galaxy Ripple weighs 33 grams and contains 174 calories. This means a single Galaxy Ripple is worth 8.7 syns, each. This is a moderate amount for a chocolate bar similar to a Crunchie (9.3) and a Flake (8.4).
So, there you have it – 8.7 syns. But what does this mean? How many syns are there for per gram and how does it stack up against other chocolate bars if they all weighed the same? Let’s find out.

Are Galaxy Ripples wroth the syns?
Galaxy Ripples are pure chocolate so they are not a healthy snack, but you wouldn’t need syns to eat one if they were! That being said, 8.7 syns each isn’t too bad for a single treat like this.
However, at 0.26 syns per gram there are several chocolate bars with a better ratio such as a Starbar, Twix and a Dairy Milk Fruit and Nut. There are worse, though.
Lastly, comparing all chocolate bars as if they all weighed exactly the same the Galaxy Ripple scores 42% which is pretty poor. The Ripple’s advantage as a snack is its low weight and low syns per stick but if you wanted to work your syns harder and aren’t fussed about having a specific choccy then this isn’t it.
