The Bounty seems to be a divisive chocolate bar with people either loving it BECAUSE of the coconut flavour or hating it because it doesn’t satisfy chocolate monster taste buds. Either way, it is a Mars product with a coconut filling and then “enrobed” with milk chocolate. It is advertised as a chocolate bar that is a bit exotic with the catchphrase “taste of paradise” used.
Considering it has a lot less chocolate than others how does it fare in terms of calories and syns? Is the coconut filling better or worse than chocolate, caramel or wafer in terms of syns? Let’s find out.
Bounty Syn Values
A Bounty weighs 50 grams and contains 278 calories. Both high numbers. This means that a single Bounty bar is worth 13.9 syns with a ratio of 0.24 syns per gram. The single syn value is comparable to a Yorkie (12.5), Boost (12.5) and a Starbar (12.5).

Are Bountys worth the syns?
The coconut filling isn’t the kind of fresh coconut, it is sugar filled and about the same as it was filled with chocolate. It hasn’t suddenly made it into a healthy treat. It is about as healthy as any other bar.
If you like the Bounty and this is what you want to have then go for it.
A bounty does indeed have a very heavy syn value per bar placing it towards the bottom of the league table. This is because 50 grams is heavy for a bar, to make space for the filling and the chocolate. However, it is not a waste of syns.
At 0.24 syns per gram, the Bounty is towards the top of the table – this is not bad. This means that despite the heavier weight it doesn’t mean that the Bounty is any heavier on syns per grams when compared to others at the same ratio such as a Lion and a Picnic.
Lastly, its SynScore is 77%, which is very high and a very good score. This means that it is 77% as efficient with your syns as the best chocolate bar in this regard. It is in the same ballpark as a Twix (74%) and a Lion (81%).
